At Honesdale Family and Implant Dentistry, we help restore smiles through implant dentistry.

We use state of the art technology to plan and place implants. If you are missing teeth or suffer with ill fitting dentures, implants may be the solution for you.

What is a dental implant? It's a small titanium post that is screwed into the jaw bone to replace a missing root.

How is the tooth replaced?  The doctor uses a surgical procedure to place the implant into the jaw.  The implant will be covered by gum tissue or in some cases left exposed for approximately 2-4 months while the bone attaches to the implant to anchor its position.  After this healing period, the patient returns to the office to have the restorative procedure completed. An impression is taken to have the crown or bridge fabricated that will be attached to the implant.

Who's a candidate for an implant?  Good general health and adequate bone in the jaw are key factors. A thorough exam consisting of x-rays and possibly a ct scan are used to determine if implants are a good option to replace missing teeth.  Each patient has unique needs and concerns that are discussed so that you and the doctor arrive at a treatment plan that's best for you.
